Lakeville Hose Company firefighters taught Salisbury Central K–3 students fire safety and demonstrated structure, extrication, and wildland gear, with junior members eighth-grade twins Skyler and Eden Ohmen.

LAKEVILLE, Conn. — Members of the Lakeville Hose Company and Salisbury Volunteer Ambulance Service visited Salisbury Central School on Oct. 9 to demonstrate their equipment and explain their work to students.

Among the visitors were SCS eighth-grade twins Skyler and Eden Ohmen, both junior members of the department, The Lakeville Journal reported.

Eden, who joined in June, said she and her brother are learning equipment basics, fire suppression skills, proper rope knots and accompanying crews on calls as observers.

Members of the department taught the K–3 students about fire safety and demonstrated the tools and gear used for structure fires, vehicle extrications and wildland incidents.
