On the afternoon of June 8th 2026, millions of people in Florida felt the ground motion from a magnitude 6.1 earthquake which struck. Yet, this earthquake did not originate near Florida, but rather far away off the western coast of Cuba. The Gulf of Mexico is not all that seismically active, so this earthquake is a peculiarity which will be explored in today's video through the knowledge and analysis of a geologist.
