The second day of the event, presented by Visa, brought together fans at the Anaheim Convention Center and the Honda Center to celebrate the stories, characters, attractions, and destinations that have made Disney a global entertainment icon.

The biggest moment of the day came during the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase, hosted by actor and longtime Disney fan Neil Patrick Harris. The sold-out presentation offered a closer look at upcoming projects across Disney parks and destinations worldwide, with new announcements that had fans cheering throughout the evening.

Among the major reveals was the news that Disneyland Park’s Tomorrowland will be reimagined, while EPCOT’s beloved Journey Into Imagination is also set for a complete transformation featuring the return of Figment and Dreamfinder.

A Night of Disney Magic at the Honda Center

Saturday’s Horizons showcase turned the Honda Center into a celebration of everything that makes Disney Experiences unique. Disney leaders, Imagineers, performers, and storytellers took the stage to share updates on projects currently in development and offer fans exclusive looks at what lies ahead.

Neil Patrick Harris opened the show with a memorable tribute to Disney Audio-Animatronics, setting the tone for an evening filled with surprises. The program also featured performances from Grammy Award-winning artists including Sheryl Crow, Beck, Los Lobos, and Gloria Gaynor, along with celebrity appearances that kept the audience energized from start to finish.

More than simply announcing new attractions, the showcase highlighted how Disney continues to bring its stories beyond movies and television. Through theme parks, attractions, resorts, cruises, and other immersive experiences, Disney has built a way for fans to step directly into the worlds and stories they have grown up loving.

“As we continue expanding and evolving Disney Experiences around the world, our fans remain at the heart of everything we do,” said Thomas Mazloum, Chairman of Disney Experiences for The Walt Disney Company. “Events like this allow us to celebrate the incredible connection fans have with Disney while sharing our vision for the future and the stories, adventures, and memories we’re creating next.”

What’s Coming to Disney Parks Around the World

The showcase offered updates on a wide range of projects across Disney’s global portfolio, giving fans plenty to look forward to in the coming years.

At Walt Disney World Resort, Disney shared developments surrounding several highly anticipated projects, including Tropical Americas, Monstropolis, a Cars-themed area, and Villains Land.

At Disneyland Resort, fans received updates on the upcoming Coco attraction and the expansion of Avengers Campus, adding even more opportunities for guests to enter the worlds of Marvel and Pixar.

Disney’s international destinations are also getting major additions. Disneyland Paris is preparing for a Lion King-themed area, while Disney destinations in Hong Kong and Shanghai will receive new Marvel experiences. In Tokyo, fans can look forward to a reimagined Space Mountain, promising a fresh take on one of the destination’s most recognizable attractions.

One of the evening’s biggest crowd-pleasers was the announcement that the Yeti will return to Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. For longtime Disney park fans, the news brings back one of the attraction’s most memorable elements and adds another reason to revisit the iconic expedition-themed coaster.

Tomorrowland and Journey Into Imagination Get New Life

Two of the evening’s most nostalgic announcements focused on attractions that have long been part of the Disney parks experience.

At Disneyland Park, Disney revealed plans for a reimagined Tomorrowland. While additional details are still to come, the announcement signals a new chapter for one of Disneyland’s original themed lands.

EPCOT fans, meanwhile, received particularly exciting news about Journey Into Imagination. The attraction will undergo a complete reimagining, with Figment and Dreamfinder returning to the experience.

For longtime Disney fans, the return of these beloved characters is likely to be one of the most anticipated developments from D23. Figment, in particular, has become closely associated with EPCOT and its spirit of creativity, imagination, and discovery.

Disney said additional details about the announcements will be available through the Disney Parks Blog.

D23 Was More Than Just a Parks Showcase

While the Horizons presentation was the headline event of the day, there was plenty happening at the Anaheim Convention Center.

The venue continued to serve as a massive gathering place for Disney fans, with immersive activations, merchandise, exhibitions, panels, and interactive experiences spread throughout the event floor. It was also an opportunity for fans from different generations and countries to celebrate their shared love for Disney.

One of the day’s highlights was the D23 Mousequerade: The Ultimate Disney Costume Contest presented by AT&T. The popular event showcased elaborate costumes created by Disney fans, with attendees transforming themselves into characters and celebrating the creativity behind their fandom.

Panels throughout the day also offered deeper looks at some of Disney’s most popular films and television properties, including Camp Rock 3, Bluey, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Scrubs.

For fans interested in Disney history, other sessions explored the legacy of Marvel’s Spider-Man, Zootopia, KINGDOM HEARTS, Tinker Bell, and other major Disney properties.

Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends Gets a Seventh Season

Young Disney fans also had reason to celebrate after Disney announced that Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends has been renewed for a historic seventh season on Disney Jr. and Disney+.

The preschool series, which follows Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Gwen Stacy as Team Spidey, has become a major hit with younger audiences. Disney said the series has accumulated nearly 1.3 billion hours streamed globally on Disney+, making it Marvel’s most-watched television series on the platform and the longest-running Spider-Man series overall.

The season-seven announcement was made by Alyssa Sapire, Head of Disney Jr., Original Programming, and Strategy, during the “Celebrate 65 Years of Marvel’s Spider-Man!” panel at D23.

For parents and young fans, the series has become an accessible introduction to one of Marvel’s most recognizable superheroes while giving younger audiences their own version of the Spider-Man universe.

Disney Princesses Step Into a New Immersive Adventure

Another major announcement at the Anaheim Convention Center was the unveiling of The Disney Princess Experience, a new immersive adventure currently in development.

The experience is expected to bring together several of Disney’s most beloved princess stories, allowing guests to journey through the worlds of Rapunzel, Tiana, Belle, Moana, and Ariel.

Rather than simply watching these characters on screen, visitors will be invited to take part in a magical quest featuring music, interactive discoveries, and immersive moments inspired by the characters and stories.

Disney said more information about the project will be announced in the future.

LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian Heads to Disney+

Star Wars fans also received an early look at a new animated project during D23.

Attendees were treated to an exclusive first screening of LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian, an animated special scheduled to premiere exclusively on Disney+ on September 2, 2026.

Shelby Young, who has voiced numerous characters in animated Star Wars projects, introduced the trailer and poster before presenting the special to the D23 audience.

Inspired by the Disney+ series The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, the LEGO special brings the Star Wars universe to life in the playful visual style of LEGO animation.

The project is directed by Chris Buckley and written by Michael Price, with Michael Price, James Waugh, Josh Rimes, Jacqui Lopez, Jill Wilfert, Jason Cosler, and Keith Malone serving as executive producers. Daniel Cavey and Dan Langlois are producers.

One More Day of D23

With another packed day behind them, Disney fans still had more to look forward to as D23 continued into its final day.

The closing day featured additional panels, shopping opportunities, interactive experiences, and fan activities at the Anaheim Convention Center. The weekend’s major finale was the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony, hosted by Ryan Seacrest at the Honda Center.

The ceremony celebrates individuals whose creativity, leadership, innovation, and contributions have helped shape Disney’s legacy over the years.

This year’s Disney Legends class includes Chris Berman, Jerry Bruckheimer, Susan Egan, Eric Goldberg, Anne Hathaway, Bob Iger, Kim Irvine, Dwayne Johnson, the Jonas Brothers, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Alan Tudyk.

For Disney fans, D23 is about more than announcements. It is a chance to see what is coming next while celebrating the characters, stories, attractions, and memories that have already become part of their lives.

From new theme park lands and reimagined classics to animated adventures and immersive experiences, this year’s event once again demonstrated Disney’s ambition to keep expanding the ways audiences can experience its stories. And judging by the reaction inside the Honda Center, fans are already eager to see what happens next.
