A M6.8 & then M6.4 earthquake struck within an hour of each other off of Japan's eastern coast, the former resulting in the creation of a minor tsunami which caused no damage. These two earthquakes interestingly occurred at the tectonic plate boundary in a zone deemed to be at potential risk for a magnitude 8.0 or greater earthquake in the next 30 years. Today's video will discuss that, while interesting, these two quakes most likely in my opinion pose no threat of being foreshocks to a large megathrust earthquake.
