The Kawah Ijen Volcano (Eastern Java, Indonesia) is world famous for its blue flames and sulphur mining. The blue flames are caused by sulphur gases burning in the atmosphere with electric blue light visible at night. The gasses condense on the surface into sulphur which is carried away by the miners.
