Typhoon No. 25, Dujuan, has battered eastern Japan with torrential rain and powerful winds. The Izu Islands and Kanto region have been hit especially hard. Rainfall exceeded 300 millimeters in some areas, triggering flooding and landslides. Chiba and surrounding areas suffered flooded roads, fallen trees, damaged infrastructure, and power outages. Tens of thousands of homes were left without electricity. Hundreds of flights were canceled, affecting more than 40,000 passengers. Evacuation orders were issued for around 1.67 million people, including about 3,000 residents on Oshima Island. The typhoon has already caused major disruption across eastern Japan.
