More than 150 people have been killed after two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela just 39 seconds apart, causing widespread destruction across the country. The earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, hit shortly after 6pm local time in an area west of the capital, Caracas. Buildings collapsed, roads were damaged, and critical infrastructure, including a major airport, was severely affected.
