When your job is out of this world, your morning commute is too. 🥾 No traffic jams here — just a peaceful but challenging hike up an Icelandic volcano. On this expedition, NASA scientists searched for buried ice in volcanic terrain, sampled underwater vents in a hydrothermal lake, examined sedimentary layers along an ancient-Mars-like riverbed, and more. Studying landscapes like these helps us understand worlds beyond Earth. Join the ultimate geologic road trip and check out more of the team’s outdoor worksites below!
