There have been a number of recent times where in the lower 48 states, a volcano underwent an episode of unrest or experienced an intrusion of magma that largely went under the radar. This included at Oregon's Three Sisters volcano in 2004, Washington's Mount Baker volcano in 1975, and California's Mammoth Mountain in 1989. Today's videos is dedicated to discussing the 5 strongest episodes of unrest lower 48 volcanoes had which were not followed by a volcanic eruption. However, with the exception of the number one entry in this video, none of these volcanoes were ever seriously close to erupting; just slightly closer than they were during normal quiet periods.
