Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThis bright golden volcanic glass is quite rare, only originating from lava fountains that reach above 1,000 feet in height. What I am referring to is known as reticulite, which currently coats a wide swath of land directly west of Kilauea's recent eruptive vents. This video discusses how it forms, and what other volcanoes also produce it. Note: While some shorter lava fountains can also produce reticulite, it is less commonly produced via lava fountains below 1,000 feet in height.
