An eruption of the Kanlaon volcano in the Philippines threw volcanic projectiles up to 12 inches wide more than 4 kilometers away. Meanwhile, Mount Teide in Spain's Canary Islands produced a hybrid earthquake swarm this week, involving hundreds of distinct earthquakes. And, in Indonesia, the Gamalama volcano erupted for its first time in more than 2 years.
