Typhoon Dolphin has slammed into China’s eastern coast after battering Japan’s Okinawa. The powerful storm made landfall in Zhejiang Province near Yuhuan, with winds reaching 162 kilometers per hour. Its central pressure dropped to around 945 hectopascals. Dolphin later hit the coast again near Wenzhou, with winds still reaching about 137 kilometers per hour. Strong winds and heavy rain have already knocked down trees and damaged fences in Zhejiang. Localized power outages have also been reported in storm-hit areas. Heavy rain and rough seas are disrupting roads, ports, and coastal operations. More than 1,000 flights have been canceled or suspended across China, including major disruptions in Shanghai. The hardest-hit areas include Yuhuan, Wenzhou, and Yueqing, where the storm crossed the coastline. Dolphin is now moving farther across eastern China, while authorities continue assessing the full extent of the damage.
