In 1850, Alfred Russell Wallace explored the islands of the Malay Archipelago and discovered that nature there was mysteriously divided into two biogeographical regions as if by a mysterious boundary. This boundary still bears his name today: the Wallace Line. 150 years later, a new generation of scientists is searching for further evidence of this natural phenomenon and diving into a mysterious world that remained hidden from Wallace in his day.
