Some people ride bikes, buses, or trains to work. That can mean fewer cars on the road, and that can lead to less carbon dioxide emissions, the main gas driving climate change and the warming of our planet. The big question is, how much do emissions actually fall when we make these efforts? It's tough to calculate. We need detailed road and fuel data that most cities don't have. So NASA is working on another way to do it -- from space! Learn how NASA is working to quickly determine if emissions from different sectors like traffic, industry, and shipping are going up or down. To find the carbon dioxide maps for your own city, check out the website: https://ocov3.jpl.nasa.gov/sams/ Learn more about the OCO-2 mission here: https://ocov2.jpl.nasa.gov/ Learn more about the OCO-3 mission here: https://ocov3.jpl.nasa.gov/ Thank you to the students at South East High School, Los Angeles, who contributed artwork to this video!
