Milton-Washington Township Firefighter Scott Adams died a day after responding to a motor vehicle accident

MILTON, Ind. — A Milton-Washington Township volunteer firefighter died in the line of duty on April 25, the Milton-Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department announced.

Firefighter/EMT Scott Adams, 46, was remembered by the department for his passion for the fire service.

According to the United States Fire Administration, Adams responded to a motor vehicle accident before returning home. The following day, he was found unresponsive at his residence and pronounced dead at 12:49 p.m. The cause of death remains under investigation.

WCCO reported that Adams was transported from his home for an autopsy, though the results have not yet been released. His exact cause and manner of death remain under investigation, but authorities do not suspect foul play.
