This week, two lava fields continued to expand due to volcanic eruptions in Russia's Kamchatka peninsula. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, the Lewotobi volcano appears to be getting close to end of one episode of its eruptive cycle and could soon produce another major explosive eruption. And, in Ecuador, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck in somewhat close proximity to the Cotopaxi volcano. Today's video will discuss these stories and list the 44 volcanoes which are actively erupting around the planet through the perspective of a geologist.
