The two largest earthquakes to strike beneath mainland Venezuela in nearly 30 years just occurred, via a magnitude 6.2 and then a magnitude 6.3 quake following after one another. This caused damage to occur to a number of structures and items within them. But, why did these two earthquakes occur in the first place, and what fault like did they strike on?
