Alexander Glazunov's Raymonda, Op. 57: Prélude et la Romanesca is a graceful orchestral work combining the delicate, flowing sound of the harp with the rich textures of the Romantic orchestra. Originally composed by Alexander Glazunov in 1897, Raymonda, Op. 57 premiered at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in January 1898, with choreography by Marius Petipa. The ballet was Glazunov's first full length work for the stage and became an important part of the Russian classical ballet repertoire. Prélude et la Romanesca draws on music from Raymonda, presented here in a concert arrangement for harp and orchestra.
