In Hunan Province, China, severe flooding has affected tens of thousands of residents due to intense monsoon rains that brought over 400 millimeters of precipitation in some areas. The cities of Hengyang, Yueyang, and Changsha were among the hardest hit, with homes, roads, and public infrastructure heavily damaged. More than 53,000 people were evacuated, and around 100 towns lost electricity. Rivers and lakes rose significantly above warning levels, triggering landslides and widespread disruptions. The local government allocated 50 million yuan for emergency relief, while rescue teams and the military continue to operate in flooded areas.
