Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDog Found Tied To Shelter Gate With Gunshot Wound Fights For Her Life
Staff at Cincinnati Animal CARE arrived early Thursday morning to a heartbreaking sight: a dog tied to the shelter gate, bleeding from a gunshot wound to her chest. The young pup, now renamed AppleButter, was clinging to life as rescuers rushed her inside for emergency treatment.

Veterinarians discovered she had lost a dangerous amount of blood. In a desperate effort to save her, they even had to inject her own blood back into her body to keep her alive. After five hours of intensive care, AppleButter was finally stabilized, though her condition remained critical.
“We are asking the community for information,” the shelter said in a statement. “If you know anything about this dog, her owners, or the circumstances surrounding this situation, please contact us immediately.”

Despite her devastating injuries, AppleButter showed incredible strength and a will to survive. Shelter staff say her recovery will be long, but the community has already stepped up to give her a fighting chance. A fundraiser launched to cover her medical expenses quickly exceeded its $5,000 goal, raising more than $5,700 in just one day.
The shelter is now urging anyone with knowledge of what happened to come forward by calling 513-541-7383 or emailing [email protected]. The investigation into her abuse is still ongoing, and officials hope justice will be served for the cruelty she endured.

For now, AppleButter remains under close veterinary supervision, surrounded by love and care. Her survival is a testament to both the quick actions of shelter staff and the generosity of a community determined to help her heal.
